Removal and Replacement






Replacing the key lock cable

Removal

Removing the cable from the steering wheel lock cylinder





Remove:
- the panel under the dashboard on the driver's side
- the lower steering column cover
- the cable sleeve mounting screw (A)
- the two screws (B) for the cover
- the cable.

Note! The retaining clip for the cable may fall out. Do not lose it.

Removing the cable from the gear lever




- Remove the center console according to Rear center console Rear Center Console
- Select P position
- Slide the cable backwards away from the steering wheel (B)
- Remove the cable from the lever (C)
- Slide the adjuster unit together with the cable and the cable sleeve out of the bracket (A).

Removing the cable





Right-hand drive cars (1). Remove:
- the clips from the steering column transfer plate
- the cable carefully from the car.

Left-hand drive cars (2). Remove:
- the clip from the air duct
- the cable carefully from the car.

Installation

Installing the cable on the gear lever




- Select P position
- Route the cable over the steering shaft to the gear lever
- Install the cable in the lever (A)
- Slide the adjuster unit together with the cable and the cable sleeve into the bracket (B).

Right-hand drive cars (1). Install
- the cable and clips on the steering shaft transfer plate (C).

Left-hand drive cars (2). Install:
- the cable and clip on the air duct.

Installing the cable on the steering wheel lock cylinder





Install:
- the retaining clip (A)
- the cable (B) in the retaining clip (A)
- the cover (C) (two screws).

Note! Turn the ignition key to position 1 if necessary.

Install and secure the cable sleeve with the screw (D).
