Removal and Replacement






Throttle body (electronic throttle module (ETM)), replacing

Note! Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.

Removal





Remove:
- the battery negative cable. Refer to: Battery, disconnecting Battery Disconnecting
- the inlet hose between the air cleaner (ACL) housing and the front panel
- the charge air hose from the charge air pipe, push to one side
- the dipstick tube




Disconnect both connectors from the charge air hose between the charge air cooler (CAC) and the throttle body.
Open the hose clamp.
Remove the by-pass valve from the charge air hose.




Remove the hose clamp for the charge air pipe on the throttle body and the charge air cooler (CAC).
Remove the charge air pipe from the throttle body and the charge air cooler (CAC).





Caution! The wiring to the throttle body must not be cut off. The throttle body may need to be returned complete.

If the wiring to the throttle body is behind the bracket for the starter motor:
Slacken off the nuts (x 2).
Remove the screw.
Remove any tie straps and disconnect the connector for the throttle body.
Route the wiring for the throttle body from the reverse of the bracket for the starter motor.




Remove the 4 x screws for the throttle body.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see Specifications Tightening Torque





Install:
- the new throttle body with new gasket
- the 4 x screws to contact.




Position the wiring for the throttle body behind the bracket for the starter motor.
Install the screws in the cylinder block.
Tighten the two nuts and the screw.
Connect the connector and install the tie strap.

Note! If the wiring was not behind the bracket for the starter motor, it must be secured along the cable duct by two tie straps.

Raise the car.
Remove the splashguard under the engine.
Tighten the 4 x screws for the throttle body.
Lower the car.




Install the charge air pipe on the throttle body.
Tighten the hose clamp for the charge air pipe on the throttle body.




Install both connectors from the charge air hose between the charge air cooler (CAC) and the throttle body.
Install the by-pass valve to the charge air hose with the clamp.





Install:
- the dipstick tube
- the charge air hose to the charge air pipe
- the inlet hose between the air cleaner (ACL) housing and the front panel
- the battery negative cable. Refer to: Battery, disconnecting Battery Disconnecting

Ordering and downloading software

Note! After reloading the electronic throttle module (ETM), the engine control module (ECM) must also be upgraded.

Order software for the electronic throttle module (ETM) reloading and program the new control module according to the table below.





Order software for engine control module (ECM) gasoline upgrading and program the control module according to the table below.






Finishing
Carry out a function test.
Set the clock.
