Removal and Replacement
Auxiliary oil cooler, replacing
Remove the air baffles
Remove:
- the screws for the air baffles from both sides. Bend them down and pull them backward
- the 2 screws for the large air baffle. Press in the catches on both sides using a long screwdriver.
Block both the oil hoses using hose clips
Remove the screw holding the oil pipes in the radiator on the left-hand side.
Remove the oil cooler from the cooler unit
Remove:
- the 2 screws securing the oil cooler in the radiator assembly
- the oil pipes from the oil cooler.
Use a container to collect any fluid spillage.
Remove the components from the oil cooler
Remove:
- the screw holding the oil pipes in the oil cooler
- the oil cooler.
Note! There is a small amount of oil still in the oil cooler.
Note! Measure the amount of oil remaining in the oil cooler. Fill the transmission with the same quantity of new oil.
Install new O-rings on the oil pipes and the screw for the oil pipes
Tighten the screw for the oil pipes. Tighten to 10 Nm.
Install the oil cooler in the cooler unit
Tighten both mounting screws. Tighten to 10 Nm.
Install the screw for the oil pipes on the left-hand side
Tighten the screw. Tighten to 10 Nm.
Remove the hose clips.
Fill with new oil according to the specifications for the car
Start the engine and check for any leakage at the oil cooler and the oil pipes.
Check the oil level
Install the air baffles
Install:
- the front air baffle. Tighten the screws. Tighten to 10 Nm
- the side air baffles, both sides. Tighten to 10 Nm.
