Crankcase ventilation and electronic throttle module (ETM), cleaning
Note! Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
Removing
Remove:
- the battery lead from the battery negative terminal, see:
Electrical system
Battery, replacing
- the dipstick tube
- the thick hoses, from the T-nipple.
Remove the intake manifold between throttle body and the air cleaner (ACL).
Remove the 10 x screws at the mating flange of the intake manifold.
Lift off the upper section of the intake manifold.

Remove the 4 x screws for the throttle body.
Cleaning
Place paper between the fan shroud and the engine block.
Place the throttle body on the paper.
Clean the throttle body (TB) using cleaning agent 1161826 and apply using a brush or similar.
Ensure that all deposits are removed from the surfaces marked in the illustration.
Note! Do not use compressed air when cleaning the throttle body.
Carefully wipe clean the inside of the air channel on both sides of the throttle disc. Also wipe clean the edge of the throttle disc.
Disconnect the hose with the T-nipple from the intake manifold.

Clean the hole in intake manifold. Use a - 2 mm drill bit.
Disconnect the hose from the T-nipple.
Clean:
- The T-nipple. Use a - 2 mm drill bit
- the hose with a - 2 mm electrical cable and blow clean using compressed air.
Wipe dry the air duct for the intake manifold.
Install:
- the hose on the T-nipple
- the hose with T-nipple to the intake manifold

Installing
Note! For tightening torques, see: Tightening torque Tightening Torque
Install:
- the throttle body. Use a new gasket
- the 4 x screws for the throttle body.
Remove999 5723 Cap 999 5723 Cap
Install:
- a new gasket
- upper intake manifold section. Tighten the screws from the outside alternately.
Install the intake manifold between the throttle body and the air cleaner (ACL).
Install:
- the thick hoses to the T-nipple
Note! The T-nipple's thickest connector to the flame trap.
- the dipstick tube
Connect the negative battery lead. Refer to: Battery, disconnecting Battery Disconnecting
