Replacing the headlamp assembly
Note! Never touch the glass on a new bulb with your fingers! Oil and grease condense from the heat and will burn onto the bulb glass. This will reduce the light strength of the bulb and reduce the operational life.
Remove the turn signal lamps
- Slacken of the screw for the turn signal lamp 2 turns. Remove the turn signal lamp. Detach the lamp housing by pulling it forwards. Remove the holder for the bulb
- Remove the cover over the headlamp
- Remove the connector for the bulbs.
Detach the bumper (one side)
- Remove the two screws securing the bumper at the side member. These screws are to the side of the headlamps. Remove the screws from underneath the car
- Remove the screw in the wheel arch
- Remove the screw holding the lower wheel arch guard.
Remove the headlamp
- Remove the four nuts holding the headlamp
- Pull the bumper 2 cm forward. Remove the headlamp with a twisting movement.
Install the headlamp
Install new headlamp in reverse order.
Tightening torque: 7 Nm.
- Check the function of the headlamp and the turn signal lamp. Check the alignment of the headlamps
- If necessary, adjust the headlamps according to Headlamp alignment Headlamps, Aligning.
Note! The nuts behind the wiper pipe are difficult to access in cars with air conditioning (A/C).
