Open Circuit [HA2]

Open Circuit

Open circuits in leads show up when something stops working.
Frayed and worn leads which have come loose are common causes.

Checks:

- Disconnect connectors at both ends of lead.
- Check connections visually as per HA1. Check Connections Visually [HA1]

Using an ohmmeter, measure between ends of lead. Ohmmeter should read approx. 0 Ohms in a lead with no open circuit.

Check for intermittent open circuit:

- Check lead visually as per HA1. Shake lead gently and pull gently on connectors during tests to find out where lead is damaged. Check Connections Visually [HA1]
