Air Guide Channels
The air guide channel routes cools air, taken from the passenger compartment, to the Hybrid battery unit (AX1). The air guide channel consists of two sections. The front section (red) is installed under the left section of the rear seat bench while the rear section (blue) is installed directly into the hybrid battery unit.
Read and follow the High Voltage Electrical System General Warnings. Refer to => [ High Voltage Electrical System General Warnings ] Service Precautions.
• Be careful not to damaged the foam seals on the air guide channels when removing and installing the channels. Also, make sure the separating surfaces on the channels are completely sealed.
Rear Air Guide Channel, Removal
- Remove the luggage compartment floor..
- Pull the air guide channel toward the hybrid battery unit and out of its retainer - 1 -.
- Lift the air guide channel and remove it from the hybrid battery unit - 2 -.
Rear Air Guide Channel, Installation
- Insert the air guide channel into the mounts on the hybrid battery unit - 1 - at the front and then lock it in the retainer - 2 -.
Front Air Guide Channel, Removal
- Removing the air guide channel rear section.
- Remove the left section of the rear seat bench.
- Remove the nut - 1 -, if equipped.
- Lift the air guide channel and remove it toward the rear through the floor covering.
Front Air Guide Channel Section, Installation
- Slide the air guide channel forward through the floor covering and position it on the threaded pin.
- Tighten the nut - 1 -.
- Install the left section of the rear seat bench.
- Install the air guide channel rear section.
