Upper Coolant Pipe

Removing

- Drain the high temperature coolant circuit. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling, High Temperature Coolant Circuit ] Draining and Filling, High Temperature Coolant Circuit.

- Remove the supercharger. Refer to => [ Supercharger ] Supercharger.

- Unclip the line - 1 -. Remove the nuts - arrows - and the shield - 2 -.






- Remove the lower right intake manifold. Refer to => [ Lower Intake Manifold with Fuel Rail ] Lower Intake Manifold with Fuel Rail.

- Remove the front secondary air hose - arrow - from its bracket and disconnect it; do to so press the release buttons.






- Free up the hose for the secondary air and vacuum hoses and move them to the side.

Danger of personal injury from the high fuel pressure!

• Reduce the fuel pressure down to a residual pressure before opening the high pressure area of the fuel injection system.

• To reduce the remaining residual pressure, lay a clean cloth around the connector and carefully open the connector.

- Release the pressure in the high pressure side. Refer to => [ High Side Fuel Pressure, Releasing ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the threaded connection - 1 - as well as the union nut - 3 -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows - on the retaining plates and the high pressure line.

• Place a cloth underneath to catch any coolant leaking out.

- Remove the coolant hose - arrow - from the coolant pipe.






- Remove the bolt - 1 - and remove the coolant pipe back out of the cylinder block - arrow -.

Installing

• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Coolant Pipes Overview ] Coolant Pipes Overview.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order while noting the following:

• Replace the O-ring.

• During installation, all cable ties must be installed at the same location.

- Clean or smooth the O-ring sealing surface before installing.

- Lubricate the O-ring with coolant and slide it onto the coolant pipe.

- Install the lower right intake manifold. Refer to => [ Lower Intake Manifold with Fuel Rail ] Lower Intake Manifold with Fuel Rail.

- Install the high pressure line. Refer to => [ High Pressure Line ] Service and Repair.

- Install the supercharger. Refer to => [ Supercharger ] Supercharger.

- Fill the high temperature coolant circuit. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling, High Temperature Coolant Circuit ] Draining and Filling, High Temperature Coolant Circuit.
