Front Seat Backrest Cover and Upholstery

• Removal and installation of the components is described for the left-hand seat. The same instructions apply for removal and installation of components for right seat.

Removal

- Mount the (VAS 6136) on the (VAS 6095).

- Remove front seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat ] Front Seat.

- Attach the seat to the (VAS 6136).

- Remove right trim on seat:

• Seat without folding backrest, refer to => [ Right Seat Trim ] Right Seat Trim.

• Seat with folding backrest, refer to => [ Left Folding Passenger Seat Trim ] Left Folding Passenger Seat Trim.

Vehicles with Manual Seat Adjustment

- Remove left trim on seat:

• Seat without folding backrest, refer to => [ Left Seat Trim ] Left Seat Trim.

• Seat with folding backrest, refer to => [ Right Folding Passenger Seat Trim ] Right Folding Passenger Seat Trim.

Vehicles with Power Backrest Adjustment on the Front Passenger Seat (USA)

- Remove right trim on seat. Refer to => [ Right Seat Trim Panel with Power Lumbar Adjustment ] Right Seat Trim Panel with Power Lumbar Adjustment

Vehicles with Power Seat Adjustment

- Remove left power seat trim. Refer to => [ Power Seat Trim, Left ] Power Seat Trim, Left.

All Vehicles

- Remove front seat backrest. Refer to => [ Left Front Seat Backrest ] Left Front Seat Backrest.

- Attach the backrest to the (VAS 6136).

- Press button in headrest and pull headrest - 2 - out of backrest.

- Remove headrest guides - 1 - and - 3 -. Refer to => [ Headrest Guides ] Headrest Guides.

Only Vehicles with Manual Lumbar Adjustment

- Remove adjusting wheel - 4 - for lumbar adjustment using (3392).

All Vehicles

- Disengage backrest profile - 5 - on both sides.

- Release profile - 6 - from mount - 7 -.





- Disengage tension wire - 1 - from backrest frame on left and right sides.

- Disengage profiles - 2 - on left and right sides from mounts - 3 -.

- Roll backrest cover upward.

- Using a small screwdriver, unclip profiles - 4 - for backrest cover out of mounts - 5 - in upholstery.





- Roll cover upward further.

- Unclip profiles of cover out of mounts in upholstery.

• For clarity, backrest cover is depicted as partially removed in the illustration.

- Cut the upholstery clips - 1 -. Upholstery clips must be replaced during installation.

- Disengage tension wire - 2 - on both sides from upholstery wire - 3 -.

- Remove the cover and upholstery - 4 - from the backrest frame - 5 -.





Installation

- To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.

(V.A.G 1634) is required to install new upholstery clips.
