Backrest







Backrest

The following describes removing and installing on the left side of the vehicle. Removing and installing on the right side is identical.

Removing

- Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).

- Remove the front seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat ] Front Seat

- Attach the seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

- Remove the front seat belt latch. Refer to => [ Front Seat Belt Latches ] Front Seat Belt Latches

- Remove the trim on the tunnel side => [ Tunnel Side Trim ] Tunnel Side Trim

Passenger Seat without Height Adjustment

- Remove the backrest adjustment wheel. Refer to => [ Backrest Adjusting Wheel ] Backrest Adjusting Wheel

- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to => [ Door Sill Side Trim ] Passenger Seat without Height Adjustment

Passenger Seat with Pass-Through

- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to => [ Door Sill Side Trim ] Door Sill Side Trim

Front Seats with Manual Height Adjustment

- Remove the backrest adjustment wheel. Refer to => [ Backrest Adjusting Wheel ] Backrest Adjusting Wheel

- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to => [ Door Sill Side Trim ] Door Sill Side Trim

Power driver seat

- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to => [ Door Sill Side Trim ] Door Sill Side Trim

- Disconnect the two harness connectors for the backrest drives underneath the seat frame. Remove the harness connectors from the seat frame.

All seats

- Cut the mesh hose cable tie and pull the harness connector belt lock through it.

The following describes removing and installing a backrest on a manual seat. Removing and installing on a power seat is identical.

- Remove two bolts each on left and right sides - 1 - and - 2 - (34.5 Nm).

- Remove the backrest from the seat frame.






Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.
