It is not possible to measure the piston projection position using workshop equipment. Due to the connecting rod principle for the cylinder head bolts in conjunction with the aluminum cylinder block, results in a compression of the cylinder block which cannot be reproduced when the cylinder head is removed. For this reason, a new cylinder head gasket with the same index number (see => [ Cylinder Head Gasket Identification ] Cylinder Head Overview) must be installed when replacing the cylinder head gasket.
