Front and Rear Muffler, Separating

• A section point is provided in connecting pipe for individual replacement of front or rear muffler.

• The separating point is marked by depressions around the circumference of the exhaust pipe.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Chain pipe cutter (VAS 6254)

Procedure

- Separate exhaust pipe at separating point - arrows - using chain pipe cutter (VAS 6254) at a right angle.





- When installing repair sleeve - arrows -, position at center on separating cut.





Rear Repair Sleeve Installation Location





- Install left repair sleeve in direction of travel - 1 - so threaded connections are at center.

Ends of bolts point down.

- Install right repair sleeve in direction of travel - 2 - so threaded connections face upward.

Ends of bolts point outward.

- Align exhaust system free of tension. Refer to --> [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.
