Water Pump: Testing and Inspection

Coolant Pump, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Voltage tester (V.A.G 1527/B)

• Test adapter kit (V.A.G 1594/C)

• Wiring diagram

Test conditions

• Fuse - 16 - - arrow - must be OK.





Test sequence

- Disconnect 2-pin connector - 1 - from coolant pump (V36) - 2 -.





- Connect contact - 1 - of Coolant Pump (V36) to battery (B+) and contact - 2 - to Ground (GND), using jumper wires from connector test set (V.A.G 1594C). Pump must run.





If pump does not run:

- Replace Coolant pump (V36).
