C50 MANUAL TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL (for Hatchback): REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

Removal (from 07/2011)

2. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST, remove the transmission case oil seal.

SST : 09308-00010





3. REMOVE TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST, remove the transaxle case oil seal.

SST : 09308-00010





4. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Coat the lip of a new transmission case oil seal with MP grease.





(b) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the transmission case oil seal.

Standard depth:

9.4 to 10.4 mm (0.370 to 0.409 in.)

NOTICE:
Do not damage the oil seal lip.

5. INSTALL TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL

(a) Coat the lip of a new transaxle case oil seal with MP grease.





(b) Using SST and a hammer, tap in the transaxle case oil seal.

1.4 to 2.0 mm (0.0551 to 0.0787 in.)

NOTICE:
Do not damage the oil seal lip.
