Removal (from 07/2011)





SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback): REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Diagnosis System (from 07/2011).

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Initialization (from 07/2011).

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

Removal (from 07/2011)

4. REMOVE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Pull the lever down and disconnect the connector holder.

When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(d) Remove the 3 bolts and the airbag sensor assembly.
