Fuel Pump: Testing and Inspection





1NZ-FE FUEL: FUEL PUMP (for Hatchback): INSPECTION

1. INSPECT FUEL PUMP

(a) Check the resistance of the fuel pump.





(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump.

(b) Inspect the operation of the fuel pump.

(1) Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal 1 of the connector, and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2. Check that the fuel pump operates.

CAUTION:
* These tests must be performed within 10 seconds of connecting the battery to prevent the coil from burning out.
* Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as possible.
* Turn the voltage on and off on the battery side, not the fuel pump side.
