MIRROR (EXT): OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR GLASS: REMOVAL

HINT
* Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.
* The procedure described below is for the LH side.

1. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR (w/o Retract Mirror)

(a) Apply protective tape to the areas shown in the illustration.

(b) Push the lower part of the mirror surface and tilt it.

(c) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws at the upper part of the outer rear view mirror as shown in the illustration.

(d) Disengage the 2 guides and remove the outer rear view mirror as shown in the illustration.





(e) w/ Mirror Heater:

(1) Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the outer rear view mirror.





(f) w/ Mirror Heater and Blind Spot Monitor System:

(1) Disconnect the 2 mirror heater connectors.

(2) Disengage the 2 claws.

(3) Using a screwdriver, release the tabs of the blind spot monitor indicator connector to disconnect the connector and remove the outer rear view mirror.

NOTICE:
* Do not bend the tabs excessively to prevent them from being damaged.
* If the tabs are damaged, replace the outer rear view mirror with a new one.

2. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR (w/ Retract Mirror)

(a) Apply protective tape to the areas shown in the illustration.

(b) Push the upper part of the mirror surface and tilt it.

(c) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws at the lower part of the outer rear view mirror as shown in the illustration.

(d) Disengage the 2 guides as shown in the illustration.





(e) Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the outer rear view mirror.
