INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
After replacing the radio and display receiver assembly of vehicles subscribed to pay-type satellite radio broadcasts, XM radio ID registration is necessary (w/ SDARS System).
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK IF A PROPER CD IS INSERTED
(a) Make sure that the CD is an audio CD or a CD with an MP3 or WMA file, and that it is not deformed, flawed, stained, deteriorated or otherwise defective.
OK:
CD is normal.
HINT
* Translucent or uniquely-shaped CDs cannot be played.
* CDs with adhesive paper labels should not be played.
* Commercial audio CDs can be played.
* CD-DA files on CD-ROMs, CD-Rs and CD-RWs can be played.
* MP3 and WMA files on CD-ROMs, CD-Rs and CD-RWs can be played.

NG -- CD IS FAULTY
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK THAT CD IS INSERTED PROPERLY
(a) Check whether or not the CD is inserted upside down.
OK:
CD is properly inserted.
NG -- SET CD PROPERLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CLEAN CD AND RECHECK
(a) Disc cleaning
(1) If dirt is on the disc surface, wipe it clean with a soft cloth from the inside to the outside in a radial direction.
OK:
Malfunction disappears.
NOTICE:
Do not use a conventional record cleaner or anti-static preservative.
NG -- REPLACE CD AND RECHECK
OK -- END (CD WAS DIRTY)
4. REPLACE CD AND RECHECK
(a) Replace the CD with a known good one and check that the malfunction disappears.
OK:
Malfunction disappears.
NG -- REPLACE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- CD WAS FAULTY
