SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat): REMOVAL

CAUTION:
* Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Airbag System (for TMC Made) for TMC made, Airbag System (for TMMK Made) for TMMK made).
* If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat assembly with a new one.
NOTICE:
Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from deploying Airbag System (for TMC Made) for TMC made, Airbag System (for TMMK Made) for TMMK made).

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER Removal

4. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE Disassembly

7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD Disassembly

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD Disassembly

10. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY Disassembly

11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT Disassembly

12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

13. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD Disassembly

14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the 5 wire harness clamps from under the seat.





(b) Disengage the 2 clamps.





(c) Remove the 2 nuts and front seat side airbag assembly.

NOTICE:
* The nuts must not be reused.
* Make sure that the seat frame assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
