Installation

AIR CONDITIONING: COMPRESSOR: INSTALLATION

1. ADJUST COMPRESSOR OIL

(a) When replacing the electric inverter compressor with a new one, gradually discharge the inert gas (helium) from the cap, and drain the following amount of oil from the new electric inverter compressor before installation.

Standard:

(Oil capacity inside the new electric inverter compressor: 120 to 135 cc (4.1 to 4.6 fl.oz.)) - (Remaining oil amount in the removed electric inverter compressor) = (Oil amount to be removed from the new compressor when replacing)

NOTICE:
* When checking the compressor oil level, observe the precautions on the cooler removal/installation.
* If a new electric inverter compressor is installed without removing some oil, due to the oil remaining in the pipes of the vehicle, the oil amount will be too large. This prevents heat exchange in the refrigerant cycle and causes refrigerant failure.
* If the volume of oil remaining in the removed electric inverter compressor is too small, inspect for an oil leak.
* Be sure to use ND-OIL 11 or equivalent for compressor oil.

2. INSTALL ELECTRIC INVERTER COMPRESSOR

(a) Temporarily install the electric inverter compressor with the bolt.

(b) Install the electric inverter compressor with the 3 bolts.

CAUTION:
Tighten the bolts in the order indicated in the illustration.

Torque : 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf)

(c) Connect the connector (A).

NOTICE:
Wear insulated gloves when performing this procedure.

(d) Lock the green-colored lock (B).

NOTICE:
Wear insulated gloves when performing this procedure.

(e) Connect the connector (C).

3. INSTALL NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE

(a) Remove the attached vinyl tape from the hose.

(b) Apply sufficient compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the electric inverter compressor.

Compressor oil:

ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

(c) Install the O-ring onto the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose.

(d) Install the No. 1 cooler refrigerant discharge hose onto the electric inverter compressor with the bolt.

Torque : 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)

4. INSTALL NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE

(a) Remove the attached vinyl tape from the hose.

5. INSTALL RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET

(a) Install the radiator hose outlet and attach the clip.

6. INSTALL SERVICE PLUG GRIP Installation

7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
