2GR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: INTAKE MANIFOLD: REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH Removal

8. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY Removal

10. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL Removal

11. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

12. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

13. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

14. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH HOSE Removal

16. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose.





(b) Disconnect the union to check valve hose.

(c) Disconnect the throttle body assembly connector and wire harness clamp.





(d) Disconnect the fuel vapor feed hose.





(e) Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses.





(f) Disconnect the connector from the intake air control valve assembly.





(g) Remove the bolt and separate the No. 1 surge tank stay from the intake air surge tank assembly.





(h) Remove the bolt and separate the throttle body bracket from the intake air surge tank assembly.

(i) Remove the 2 nuts from the intake air surge tank assembly.





(j) Using a 5 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the 4 bolts.

(k) Remove the intake air surge tank assembly and 3 air surge tank to intake manifold gaskets.

17. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH Removal

18. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

19. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY Removal

20. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Remove the 6 bolts, 4 nuts, intake manifold and 2 intake manifold to head gaskets.
