C1581 - Assist Map Number Un-Writing

DESCRIPTION

The power steering ECU outputs this DTC when it determines that the assist map is not written in the ECU.





INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
If the steering column assembly or power steering ECU has been replaced, perform the rotation angle sensor initialization and torque sensor zero point calibration Programming and Relearning.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ASSIST MAP WRITING

(a) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

(b) Wait for 1 second or more.

(c) Check for DTCs.

HINT
Approximately 1 second after turning the ignition switch on (IG), the assist map writing is automatically performed. After the automatic assist map writing, DTC C1581 is erased.

OK:

DTC C1581 is not output.

NG -- CHECK FOR DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)

OK -- END (COMPLETION OF ASSIST MAP WRITING RETURNS SYSTEM TO NORMAL)

2. CHECK FOR DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)

(a) Check for DTCs.

OK:

DTC is not output.

OK -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU Removal
