SEAT: FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for LH Side):
COMPONENTS
REASSEMBLY
1. INSTALL SEAT POSITION AIR BAG SENSOR
(a) Install the seat position airbag sensor, but do not fully tighten it yet.
(b) Insert a 1mm(0.04 in.) feeler gauge between the slide rail and sensor as shown in the illustration.
HINT: Make sure that the clearance between the seat position airbag sensor and the slide rail is within 0.6 to 2.0 mm (0.023 to 0.079 in.).
NOTICE:
- If the seat position airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the seat position airbag sensor with a new one.
- When installing the seat position airbag sensor, make sure that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
(c) Push the top of the sensor. While holding the sensor, tighten the sensor using a torx socket wrench (T30).
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)
(d) Remove the feeler gauge.
(e) Install the seat slide position protector.
(f) Connect the wire harness connector.
2. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTER SPACER
3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER RH
4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LOWER LH
5. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH (LOWER)
6. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH (LOWER)
7. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH (UPPER)
8. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH (UPPER)
9. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER
NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.
(a) Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover to the seatback pad with new hog rings.
(b) Install the seatback cover (with pad) to the seat adjuster.
(c) Install the 2 headrest supports.
(d) w/ Side airbag:
Fully cover the airbag with the 2 seatback cover brackets and tighten the nut.
Torque: 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)
- For vehicles with side airbags, the seatback cover must be securely installed. Otherwise, the side airbag may not deploy properly.
- Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.
- Install the bracket securely.
(e) Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover with new hog rings.
10. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER
NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the cover.
- When installing the hog rings, take care to minimize wrinkles as much as possible.
(a) Using hog ring pliers, install the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion pad with new hog rings.
(b) Install the seat cushion cover (with pad) to the seat adjuster by using hog ring pliers to attach new hog rings and hooks.
11. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Connect the connector and engage the clamps.
(b) Engage the wire harness of the inner belt to the cushion shield inner LH.
(c) Install the cushion shield inner LH (with wire harness) with the screw.
(d) Install the belt with the bolt.
Torque: 41 Nm (418 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)
12. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH
13. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH
14. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE
