DTC C1281/81 - Master Cylinder Pressure Sensor Output Malfunction (Test Mode DTC)

DESCRIPTION

The master cylinder pressure sensor is connected to the skid control ECU in the actuator.
DTC C1281/81 is output only in the test mode (SIGNAL CHECK).









INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTE: When replacing the ABS and TRACTION actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (Programming and Relearning).

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (MASTER CYLINDER PRESSURE SENSOR)
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Select the Data List mode on Techstream.

ABS / VSC / TRAC:





(d) Check that the brake fluid pressure value of the master cylinder pressure sensor indicated on Techstream, changes when the brake pedal is depressed.
OK:
Brake fluid pressure value should change.
NG -- INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (STP TERMINAL)
OK -- REPLACE ABS AND TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
2. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (STP TERMINAL)





(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Voltage:





NG -- CHECK AND REPLACE STOP LIGHT SWITCH CIRCUIT
OK -- REPLACE ABS AND TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
