DESCRIPTION

The yaw rate and acceleration sensors detect any gravity applied to the vehicle and transmit the signal to the skid control ECU via the CAN communication system.
DTCs C1279/79 and C0371/71 are output only in the test mode (SIGNAL CHECK).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTE: When replacing the ABS and TRACTION actuator assembly and yaw rate and acceleration sensor, perform zero point calibration (Programming and Relearning).

HINT: When U0073/94, U0123/62, U0124/95 or U0126/63 is output together with C1232/32 or C1334/34, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by U0073/94, U0123/62, U0124/95 or U0126/63 first.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK YAW RATE SENSOR INSTALLATION
(a) Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor has been installed properly (Installation).
OK:
The sensor should be tightened to the specified torque.
The sensor should not be tilted.
NG -- INSTALL YAW RATE SENSOR CORRECTLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT YAW RATE SENSOR (IG TERMINAL)





(a) Disconnect the yaw rate and acceleration sensor connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (IG CIRCUIT)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT YAW RATE SENSOR (GND TERMINAL)





(a) Disconnect the yaw rate and acceleration sensor connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GND CIRCUIT)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK DTC
(a) Check DTCs (Vehicle Stability Control System).
Result:





B -- REPLACE ABS AND TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
A -- REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR
