SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: STEERING PAD: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION: Be sure to read "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing (Service Precautions).

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

3. REMOVE STEERING PAD

NOTE: If the airbag connector is disconnected with the ignition switch at ON or ACC, DTCs will be recorded.





(a) Place the front wheels facing straight ahead.
(b) Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), loosen the 2 "TORX" screw until the groove along the screw circumference catches on the screw case.





(c) Pull out the steering pad from the steering wheel assembly.
(d) Using a screwdriver, release the lock part of each airbag connector and disconnect the 2 airbag connectors.
