P1346 - VVT Sensor/Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem (BANK1)CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
DTC Detecting Condition:
Crankshaft position sensor (NE signal) consists of a magnet, iron core and pick up coil.
The NE signal plate (crank angle sensor plate) has 34 teeth and is mounted on the crankshaft. The NE signal sensor generates 34 signals at every engine revolution. The engine ECM detects the crankshaft angle and the engine speed based on the NE signal, and the cylinder detection and the VVT palce based on the combination of the G and NE signal.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Read freeze frame data using the hand-held tester or OBD II scan tool, as freeze frame data records the engine conditions when the malfunction is detected. When troubleshooting, it is useful for determining whether the vehicle was running or stopped, the engine was warmed up or not, the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, etc. at the time of the malfunction.
