Component Inspection

Fuel Pump Circuit:

FUEL PUMP INSPECTION:



1. REMOVE ASH RECEPTACLE RETAINER.



2. DISCONNECT FUEL PUMP CONNECTOR.
3. INSPECT FUEL PUMP RESISTANCE.



- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

Resistance (Cold): 0.2 - 3.0 Ohms

- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the fuel pump.

4. INSPECT FUEL PUMP OPERATION.

NOTICE:
- These tests must be done quickly (within 10 seconds) to prevent the coil from burning out.
- Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as possible.
- Always do the (ON-OFF) switching at the battery.




- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 of the connector, and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2.
- Check that the fuel pump operates.
- If operation is not as specified, replace the fuel pump.

4. RECONNECT FUEL PUMP CONNECTOR.
5. REINSTALL ASH RECEPTACLE RETAINER.
