Component Location:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The vehicle speed sensor outputs a 4-pulse signal for every revolution of the transaxle differential. After this signal converted into a more precise rectangular wave form by the wave form shaping circuit inside the combination meter, it is then transmitted to the ECM.

Shift Map During Malfunction Of VSS:

FAIL SAFE FUNCTION
If the VSS fails, shift control takes place so that the throttle opening ration and RPM are controlled according to the shift control map.
