AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION: INSTALLATION; 2013 MY FR-S [03/2012 -]

1. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION

(a) Put matchmarks on the rear suspension member and new rear No. 2 differential mount cushion.









CAUTION:
Install the rear No. 2 differential mount cushion with the arrow marks facing upward and downward.

(b) Using SST, install the rear No. 2 differential mount cushion.

NOTICE:
* Install the rear No. 2differential mount cushion while checking that SST and the rear No. 2 differential mount cushion are not at an angle.
* Make sure to tie the string of SST to the rear suspension member to prevent SST from dropping.
* Apply a light coat of molybdenum grease to the SST bolt.

HINT
* Install the rear No. 2 differential mount cushion while aligning with the matchmark on the rear suspension member and checking misalignment.
* Push in the rear No. 2 differential mount cushion until SST (09571-01041) comes into contact with the rear suspension member.
* Make sure that the differential mount cushion is aligned within 5° from the center.











2. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION

(a) Put matchmarks on the rear suspension member and new rear No. 1 differential mount cushion.









NOTICE:
Install the rear No. 1 differential mount cushion with the triangle mark facing upward.

(b) Using SST, install the rear No. 1 differential mount cushion.

NOTICE:
* Install the rear No. 1 differential mount cushion while checking that SST and the rear No. 1 differential mount cushion are not at an angle.
* Apply a light coat of molybdenum grease to the SST bolt.
* Equally tighten the upper side bolt and lower side bolt.
* If the rear No. 1 differential mount cushion is pushed in at an angle, the installation becomes difficult. Be sure to set SST on the rear No. 1 differential mount cushion with no clearance.

HINT
* Install the rear No. 1 differential mount cushion while aligning with the matchmark on the rear suspension member and checking misalignment.
* Push in the rear No. 1 differential mount cushion until SST (09571-01131) comes into contact with the rear suspension member.
* Make sure that the differential mount cushion is aligned within 3° from the center.
