Incorrect Fuel Consumption Displayed
OUTPUT SIGNAL TO THE EDUSymptom Of Fault.
Incorrect fuel consumption displayed.
Diagnostic Procedure.
1. Check the control module's output signal.
- Unplug the connector from the EDU.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Take an output signal reading across pins 8 and 21. With the engine warmed up and running at idling speed, a reading of 7.1 Hz should be obtained.
Is the reading OK?
YES:
^ continue fault diagnosis in the Electrical system, EDU trip computer.
NO:
^ Continue with point 2.
2. Check The Wiring.
- Check The Wiring between pin 34 of the Trionic control module and pin 8 of the EDU for continuity/shorting to ground.
Is the wiring OK?
YES
^ Proceed at "Before Replacing a Control Module". Component Tests and General Diagnostics
NO:
^ Rectify the fault.
