MALFUNCTION
Diagnostic trouble code 45322: FS 2 (Right Front Impact Sensor), open circuit

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

NOTE: Additionally, for cars with an airbag on the passenger's side: Remove the lower cover and unplug the passenger airbag connector H2-80. Plug reference resistor 84 71 153 via cable 86 11 378 into She connector.

2. Unplug the connector at control module 331 and check pins 27, 9 and 10 for continuity and/or slide-out.
3. Plug in the connector, clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition ON. Then check whether the trouble code recurs.
If the trouble code does not recur, the fault was in the connector.
If the trouble code recurs, proceed to step 4.
4. Unplug connector H4-17 and check the pins for corrosion, continuity and slide-out.
5. Plug in the connector, clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition ON. Then check whether the trouble code recurs. If the trouble code does not recur, the fault was in the connector.
6. Unplug the connector at front sensor 332B and
7. Check the pins for continuity and/or slide-out.
8. Plug in the connector, clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition ON. Then check whether the trouble code recurs. If the trouble code does not recur, the fault was in the connector.
If the trouble code does recur, the fault is probably in the front sensor.
9. Try changing the front sensor. Clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition ON. Then check whether the trouble code recurs.
If the trouble code does not recur, the fault was in the front sensor.
If the trouble code does recur - proceed to step 10.
10. Change the wiring between connector H4-17 and the connector at front sensor 332B, Clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition ON. Then check whether the trouble code recurs.
If the trouble code does not recur, the fault was in the wiring.
If the fault code does recur, the fault is in the wiring between connector H4-17 and the connector at control module 331. Investigate the cause. Rectify the fault or change the wiring as necessary.
