DTC 43A22 - Electric Detonator 4 Open Circuit

MALFUNCTION
Diagnostic trouble code 43A22: Electric detonator 4, open circuit

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
1. Unscrew the steering wheel airbag module and unplug the connector at the rear of the airbag. Plug reference resistor 84 71 153 into the connector.
2. Unplug the connector at the control module and check pins 15 and 16 for continuity and/or slide-out. Plug in the connector, switch ON the ignition and clear the trouble code. Switch OFF the ignition and then switch it ON again. Wait at least 40 seconds. Then check whether the trouble code recurs.
If the trouble code does not recur, the fault was - in the connector.
If the trouble code recurs, proceed to point 3.
3. Switch OFF the ignition and unplug the connector at the control module. Use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance across the pins 15 and 16 of the connector.
If the resistance is high, change the resistor. If the resistance is 2-3 ohms, Testing and Inspection
