DTC 2E - Electric Detonator 2 Resistance too High

MALFUNCTION
DTC 2EL: Electric detonator 2, resistance too high

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
1. Unscrew the steering wheel center pad (airbag module) and unplug the connector at the rear. Plug reference resistor 84 71 153 into the connector.
1. Unplug connector 58.
2. Check the connector pins and sockets for poor contact.
3. Plug in the connector.
4. Clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition switched ON. Check whether the trouble code persists.
If the trouble code does not recur, the fault is probably in the connector.
If the trouble code persists - proceed to step 5.
5. Unplug the connector on the seat-belt tensioner.
6. Plug reference resistor 84 71 153 into the connector.
7. Clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition switched ON. Check whether the trouble code persists.
If the trouble code persists - proceed to step 8. If the trouble code does not recur, the fault is in the seat-belt tensioner. Change the seat-belt tensioner. Check by unplugging the reference resistor and plugging in the seat-belt tensioner. Switch ON the ignition and wait at least 40 seconds . If the trouble code recurs, the fault is in the seat-belt tensioner.
8. Unplug connector 58.
9. Use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance across pins 5 and 9 of the connector on the cable connected to the seat-belt tensioner.
If the resistance is lower than 2.7 ohms, the fault is in the wiring between connector 58 and the control module.
10. Change the control module. Before changing the control module, Programming and Relearning
If the resistance is 2.7 ohms or higher, the fault is in the wiring between connector 58 and the seat-belt tensioner. Change the wiring.
