DTC 2D/DTC 0D/DTC 27 - Electric Detonator 1, Faults
MALFUNCTIONDTC 27 L or 27 S: Electric detonator 1, open circuit
DTC 2d L or 2d S: Electric detonator 1, resistance too high
DTC Od/DTC 2d - continuous duration for more than 10 minutes.
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
1. Unscrew the steering wheel center pad (airbag module) and unplug the connector at the rear. Plug reference resistor 84 71 153 into the connector.
If the fault is of intermittent type (S), change the contact unit. After changing the contact unit, clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition switched ON.
2. Check whether the trouble code persists.
If the fault is of permanent type (L) - proceed to step 3.
3. Check the pins and sockets of connectors 59 and 335, as well as the wiring between them, for continuity.
4. Plug in the connectors.
5. Unscrew the steering wheel center pad (airbag module) and unplug the connector at the rear of the airbag.
6. Check the pins and sockets in the connector for damage or open circuit.
7. Plug reference resistor 84 71 153 into the connector. Clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition switched ON. Check whether the trouble code persists.
If the trouble code persists, the fault is probably in the contact unit - proceed to step 12.
If the trouble code does not recur, there is probably an intermittent fault in the contact unit proceed to step 8.
8. Change the contact unit.
9. Plug in the airbag.
10. Clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition switched ON. Check whether the trouble code persists.
If the trouble code persists, try fitting a replacement airbag.
11. Clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition switched ON. Check whether the trouble code persists.
12. Change the contact unit. Plug in the airbag.
13. Clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition switched ON. Check whether the trouble code persists.
If the trouble code persists, try fitting a replacement control module. Before changing the control module, Programming and Relearning
