DTC 1F - Electric Detonator 2 Short to Battery Positive

MALFUNCTION
DTC 1F L: Electric detonator 2, shorting to battery positive.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
1. Unplug the connector on the seat-belt tensioner. Plug reference resistor 84 71 153 into the connector.
2. Unplug connector 58.
3. Use an ohmmeter to check the resistance of the lead between the connector and the seat-belt tensioner.

NOTE: To prevent damaging the ohmmeter when resistance measurement to battery positive is carried out, do not ground it.

4. Take readings across pin 9 and battery positive and across pin 5 and battery positive.
When taking readings, note that:
- the engine should be running
- all current-consuming devices (lighting, electric motors, etc.) should be switched ON one by one.
If any reading is 1,000 ohms or lower, the fault is in the wiring between connector 58 and the seat-belt tensioner. Investigate the cause. Rectify the fault or change the wiring as necessary.
If all readings are higher than 1,000 ohms, the fault could be in the wiring between connector 58 and the control module. Investigate the cause. Rectify the fault or change the control module as necessary. Before changing the control module, Programming and Relearning
