Fuel Pressure Regulator: Testing and Inspection

Checking The Fuel Pressure Regulator

1 Connect as described in "Connection of pressure testing equipment". Connection of Pressure Testing Equipment




2 Connect pressure testing equipment 83 93 514 to the fuel pressure regulator's suction/pressure connection.

If fuel is present in the suction/pressure connection, change the fuel pressure regulator.

Suspend the pressure gauge vertically to avoid incorrect readings.

Connect pressure/vacuum pump 30 14 883 to test equipment 83 93 514.




3 Start the fuel pump by setting the switch to ON. System pressure should rise to the prescribed value, see table.




4 Increase the negative pressure in the fuel pressure regulator by means of the vacuum pump. System pressure should now drop by as much as the reading on the pressure gauge, see table.

Pump up overpressure in the fuel pressure regulator by means of the pressure/vacuum pump. System pressure should now increase by as much as the reading on the pressure gauge, see table.
