EB - Parking Lamps Inoperative
Pinpoint Test EB: Parking Lamps InoperativeNOTE: Ford DOES NOT provide a procedure to perform the following pinpoint test without the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) tester 007-00500 or equivalent.
EB1 - Test Headlamps
- Turn headlamps switch to PARK position.
Do parking lamps turn on?
YES Parking lamps operating normally. CHECK for intermittent operation.
NO CHECK fuse 15 (15A) Town Car or fuse 4 (15A) Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis. REPLACE fuse and RETEST. If fuse is good, GO to EB2.
EB2 - Test Parking Lamps Output
- Connect Rotunda New Generation STAR Tester 007-00500 or equivalent to data link connector.
- Send command park lamps on.
Do parking lamps turn on?
YES G0 to EB3.
NO GO to EB5.
EB3 - Test Headlamp Switch
- Request lighting control module headlamp switch position PID HDLMPSW.
Does PID indicate switch is in parking lamps position?
YES REPLACE lighting control module. RETEST system.
NO GO to EB4.
EB4 - Check Circuit 1032 (W/BK)
- Disconnect lighting control module C1 connector.
- Disconnect headlamp switch C2 connector.
- Check resistance of circuit 1032 (W/BK) between pin C2-3 of headlamp switch and pin C1-13 of lighting control module.
Is resistance 5 ohms or less?
YES REPLACE headlamp switch. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO SERVICE circuit 1032 (W/BK) for open RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
EB5 - Test Parking Lamp Power To Lighting Control Module
- Remove lighting control module connector C3.
- Check for voltage on pin C3-6 circuit 195 (T/W).
Is voltage B+?
YES GO to EB6.
NO SERVICE circuit 195 (T/W) from fuse junction panel to lighting control module. RETEST system.
EB6 - Test Parking Lamp Output
- Using a jumper wire, short pin C3-6, circuit 195 (T/W) to pin C3-14, circuit 14 (BR).
Do parking lamps turn on?
YES REPLACE lighting control module. RETEST system.
NO SERVICE parking lamps output circuit 14 (BR). RETEST system.
