Radiator: Service and Repair


PRECEDING WORK
Fan cowl removed.

OVERVIEW





Expansion tank cap:
open (release pressure).
Coolant:
drain from radiator (arrow), refill.

Note
To drain, connect hose (ID 12 mm) to connection (arrow).

Drain plug (14):
Unscrew.
Coolant (approximately 10 liters):
Drain into suitable vessel.
Oil lines (7 and 8) for automatic transmission:
Unscrew from radiator (4), screw on (20 Nm).
Coolant hoses (9, 10 and 11):
Remove, install,
Plastic strips on radiator:
Pull off, fit on.
Front air scoops (22):
Remove, install.
Bowden cable of hood catch at radiator (4):
Detach, attach.
Coolant hose (12):
Detach, attach.
Radiator (4):
Unscrew from condenser (3), screw on.
Radiator (4):
Remove upward, install.

Installation Notes
The securing studs of the radiator must be inserted into the rubber grommets (19) of the bottom cross member when installing.

With new radiator (4):
Set adjusting bar (20) by hand with adjusting screw (21).
To perform this step:
Turn adjusting screw (21) when front cross member (2) installed.

The adjusting bar (20) must be resting slightly pretensioned against the front cross member (2).

Cooling system:
Fill, bleed.
Oil level of automatic transmission:
Check, adjust to correct level.
Cooling system:
Check for leaks.
