Sunroof / Moonroof Motor: Testing and Inspection





SUNROOF MOTOR INSPECTION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Partially peel back the seaming welt.

3. Remove the rain sensor cover. (Vehicles with auto light/wiper system) Service and Repair

4. Disconnect the rain sensor connector. (Vehicles auto light/wiper system)

5. Disconnect the auto-dimming mirror connector. (vehicles with auto-dimming mirror)

6. Remove the following parts:
a. Sunroof seaming welt

b. A-pillar trims A-Pillar Trim Removal/Installation

c. Front scuff plate Front Scuff Plate Removal/Installation

d. Rear scuff plate Rear Scuff Plate Removal/Installation

e. B-pillar lower trims B-Pillar Lower Trim Removal/Installation

f. Upper anchor of the front seat belt Front Seat Belt Removal/Installation

g. B-pillar upper trims B-Pillar Upper Trim Removal/Installation

h. Rear seat cushion Rear Seat Cushion Removal/Installation

i. Rear side seat back Rear Side Seat Back Removal/Installation

j. C-pillar trims C-Pillar Trim Removal/Installation

k. Sunvisors Service and Repair

l. Map light Map Light Removal/Installation

m. Assist handle Service and Repair

n. Headliner Service and Repair

o. Sunroof motor Service and Repair

7. Measure the voltage at each terminal.

- If not as specified, inspect the parts listed under "Inspection item" and the related wiring harnesses.

- If the parts and wiring harnesses are normal but the system still does not work properly, replace the sunroof motor. Service and Repair
