Rearview Mirror Removal
REARVIEW MIRROR REMOVAL
Vehicles With Rain Sensor
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the rain sensor from the windshield. Service and Repair
3. Detach the hook in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure using a flathead screwdriver.
4. Remove the rain sensor in the direction of arrows (2) shown in the figure.
5. Make a tool as shown in the figure using wire.
CAUTION:
- Using the tool with bare hands can cause injury. Always wear gloves when using the tool.
- To prevent damage to the lens, do not use a flathead screwdriver.
6. Push the wire in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.
7. Insert a tool into the position shown in the figure and release the tab in the direction of the arrow.
CAUTION:
- Perform the procedure while being careful not to damage the lens.
8. Pull the rearview mirror in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove it.
CAUTION:
- When removing the rearview mirror, it may hit the headliner and cause a damage. Hold the rearview mirror with hands and be careful not to contact it with the headliner.
Vehicles Without Rain Sensor
1. Push the wire in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.
2. Insert a flathead screwdriver between the rearview mirror and base.
3. Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver to the position shown in the figure and press the center part of the spring.
4. Pull out the rearview mirror toward the vehicle rear.
