Test D: The Memory Mirror Is Inoperative
PINPOINT TEST D: THE MEMORY MIRROR IS INOPERATIVENormal Operation
Under normal operation, the exterior mirror control switch receives power from circuit 1524 (DB) and ground from circuit 57 (BK). The exterior mirror control switch uses circuits 940 (DB/OG), 942 (RD/OG), 943 (VT/OG), 944 (DG/OG) and 945 (YE/BK) to send input signals to the driver door module (DDM). When the exterior mirror control switch is activated, the DDM receives this input signal and then sends a standard corporate protocol (SCP) message to the driver seat module (DSM). The DSM controls the LH exterior mirror motor movement by supplying the appropriate power and ground to circuits 540 (RD), 541 (DB/YE), 947 (YE/RD) and 948 (YE/LB). The DSM controls the RH exterior mirror motor movement by supplying the appropriate power and ground to circuits 543 (DG), 544 (VT), 952 (WH/LG) and 953 (WH/VT).
The memory mirror system uses feedback potentiometers, located in the LH and RH exterior mirror motors, to track the position and movement of the LH and RH exterior mirror motors. The DSM supplies the LH and RH exterior mirror feedback potentiometers reference voltage through circuit 958 (GY/RD) and signal return through circuit 955 (GY). The DSM receives feedback from the RH exterior mirror feedback potentiometers through horizontal circuit 954 (DG/WH) and vertical circuit 957 (VT/WH). The DSM receives feedback from the LH exterior mirror feedback potentiometers through horizontal circuit 949 (RD/WH) and vertical circuit 951 (DB/WH).
