Test L: The Autolock Does Not Operate Correctly
PINPOINT TEST L: THE AUTOLOCK DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLYNormal Operation
The autolocking function automatically locks all doors when all of the following conditions are concurrently met during the current key cycle:
- All the doors are closed.
- The autolocking function is active.
- The ignition switch is in the RUN position.
- The transmission is in DRIVE (D) or REVERSE (R).
- The vehicle speed exceeds 5 km/h (3 mph).
After the initial activation of autolocking and at least one door has been opened, autolocking is activated again if the following conditions are concurrently met:
- All the doors are closed.
- The ignition switch is in the RUN position.
- The transmission is in DRIVE (D) or REVERSE (R).
- The vehicle speed exceeds 5 km/h (3 mph).
The driver door module (DDM) receives inputs from the ignition switch position, digital transmission range (TR) sensor, and the vehicle speed over the standard corporate protocol (SCP) network. If the DDM does not receive or receives invalid data for vehicle speed from the instrument cluster (IC), it will set DTC U1041. If the DDM does not receive or receives invalid data for the TR sensor from the IC, it will set DTC U1059. The DDM also receives input from the door ajar switches, which are hardwired to the DDM.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Door ajar switch input
- Vehicle speed signal message from the IC
- TR sensor message from the IC
- DDM
