Normal Operation
The safety belt switch is hardwired directly to the restraint control module (RCM). The instrument cluster receives the safety belt switch status from the RCM through circuit 8-GE52 (WH/BK). The RCM monitors the safety belt switch and signals the instrument cluster to turn on the safety belt warning indicator when the safety belt is unfastened.

Possible Causes
- circuit 8-GE52 (WH/BK) open or short to ground
- instrument cluster
- safety belt switch
