Installation





PARKING BRAKE: ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR: INSTALLATION

1. APPLY HIGH-TEMPERATURE GREASE Reassembly

2. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE W/BRACKET ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the actuator with the 3 nuts.

Torque : 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)





(b) Install the 3 harness clamps to the member.





(c) Install the bolt and 5 nuts.





Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)

(d) Attach the clamp to the member.

3. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH Reassembly

5. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH Reassembly

7. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET LH Reassembly

9. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION SPRING

(a) Install the No. 2 parking brake shoe return spring LH and RH.





10. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION SPRING

(a) Connect the parking brake cable.

(1) Apply a thin layer of high-temperature grease to the area where the parking brake shoe lever contacts the parking brake anchor block.





(2) Install the parking brake shoe lever to the parking brake cable.

NOTICE:
Take care to install the correct parking brake shoe lever because the direction of the pin is different between the left and right.

(3) Check that the parking brake inner cable and parking brake shoe lever are securely connected by trying to pull them apart.





(4) Install the parking brake cable to the support bracket with the 2 nuts.

Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)





(5) With the vehicle on the ground, check that the gap between the parking brake cable and drive shaft, and the gap between the parking brake cable and shaft boot are 10 mm (0.394 in.) or more.





HINT
Make sure that the cable is not twisted.

(b) Install the No. 1 parking brake shoe return spring LH and RH.

12. TEMPORARILY INSTALL PNEUMATIC CYLINDER WITH REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH Installation

13. TEMPORARILY INSTALL PNEUMATIC CYLINDER WITH REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY RH Installation

14. INSTALL REAR DISC LH Reassembly

15. INSTALL REAR DISC RH

16. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH Reassembly

26. INSTALL FLOOR NO. 1 UNDER COVER Installation

27. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS CLAMP

(a) Connect the 2 harness clamps.





28. CONNECT ELECTRIC PARKING ACTUATOR CONNECTOR

(a) Attach the electric parking brake actuator harness grommet.





(b) Connect the trunk interior's parking brake actuator connector.

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

57. TIGHTEN PNEUMATIC CYLINDER WITH REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH Installation

58. TIGHTEN PNEUMATIC CYLINDER WITH REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY RH Installation

59. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE

(a) Adjust parking brake shoe clearance Adjustments.

NOTICE:
If the parking brake shoe clearance is not adjusted, the cable end may be damaged.

60. INSTALL REAR WHEEL Installation

61. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT

(a) Inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment Rear Wheel Alignment.

62. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL

(a) Inspect the speed sensor signal Test Mode Procedure.

63. ADJUST VEHICLE HEIGHT

(a) Adjust vehicle height Installation.

64. PERFORM CALIBRATION

(a) Clear the electric parking brake ECU memory and acquire tension sensor zero point Programming and Relearning.

65. PERFORM PARKING BRAKE SHOE BEDDING

(a) Perform parking brake shoe bedding Programming and Relearning.

66. ADJUST HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Adjust headlight assembly (for HID Headlight).

67. ADJUST OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA

(a) Adjust object recognition camera Adjustments.

68. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK Installation
