DESCRIPTION

* When the brake hold switch is turned ON while the power switch is ON (IG), if the brake hold operation is possible, the brake hold standby indicator light illuminates in green.

* When the brake hold system is malfunctioning and the brake hold switch is pressed, the brake hold standby indicator light blinks in green.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the skid control ECU, perform the following operations:

* Initialization of linear solenoid valve and calibration Initialization
* Yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration Calibration

PROCEDURE

1. PRE-CHECK

(a) If the brake hold standby indicator light does not illuminate even though the brake hold switch is pushed, check that the brake hold function operation conditions are met.

(1) The driver's door is closed.

(2) Driver's seat belt is fastened.

(3) The engine hood is closed.

(4) The trunk is closed.

(5) The system is normal.

HINT
If a malfunction occurs in one of the following systems, the brake hold standby indicator light will blink. If this occurs, perform troubleshooting on the malfunctioning system.

* Electronically Controlled Brake system
* ABS system
* VSC system
* Electric parking brake system
* Hybrid control system

2. INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Check if the CAN communication system DTC is output CAN Communication System.

3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (BRAKE HOLD STANDBY INDICATOR LIGHT)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).

(c) Select the Active Test mode on the Techstream.

Combination meter:





(d) Check that the brake hold standby indicator light turns on or off when using the Techstream.

OK:

The brake hold standby indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Techstream.

HINT
If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part Problem Symptoms Table.

4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (BRAKE HOLD STANDBY INDICATOR LIGHT)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).

(c) Select the Active Test mode on the Techstream.

ABS/VSC/TRAC:





(d) Check that the brake hold standby indicator light turns on or off on the Techstream.

OK:

The brake hold standby indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Techstream.

NG -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (BRAKE HOLD SWITCH)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).

(c) Select the Data List mode on the Techstream.

Steering Pad Switch:





(d) Check that the brake hold switch turns on or off on the Techstream.

OK:

The brake hold switch is operated, and the display changes as shown above.
