BRAKE SYSTEM (OTHER): BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
NOTE:
Release the vacuum from the booster by depressing the brake pedal several times. Then remove the brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal
3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal
4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal
5. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH Removal
6. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH Removal
7. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH
8. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING RH Removal
9. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP Removal
10. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Removal
11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Removal
12. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
13. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTE:
If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.
14. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
15. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK
(a) Remove the bolt, nut and No. 3 engine room relay block.
NOTE:
Cover the No. 3 engine room relay block with a piece of cloth to prevent brake fluid from getting on it.
16. SEPARATE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET Removal
17. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the clamp and disconnect the connector.
(b) Using a union nut wrench (10 mm), disconnect the 2 brake lines from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
(c) Remove the 2 nuts and brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.
NOTE:
Do not damage the brake lines.
(d) Remove the O-ring from the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
