DIFFERENTIAL: REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL: REPLACEMENT

REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL
(a) Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, remove the filler plug and gasket.
(b) Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, remove the drain plug and gasket and drain the oil.
(c) Install the differential drain plug and a new gasket.
Torque: 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36ft-lbf)
3. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Removal
4. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL





(a) Using SST, tap out the oil seal.
SST: 09308-10010
5. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL





(a) Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new oil seal.
SST: 09950-70010
09951-07150
SST: 09223-15030
Standard depth:
-0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.020 to 0.020 in.)
(b) Apply MP grease to the lip of the oil seal.
6. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Installation
7. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL Testing and Inspection
8. INSPECT DIFFERENTIAL OIL Testing and Inspection
9. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76ft-lbf)
10. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
(a) Inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment Rear Wheel Alignment.
