BRAKE SYSTEM (OTHER): BRAKE BOOSTER: REMOVAL

BRAKE SYSTEM

1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION: Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY
HINT: Refer to the instructions for Removal of the brake master cylinder sub-assembly Removal.

3. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE






(a) Disengage the clamp.
(b) Slide the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose.
4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Removal

7. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH Removal

8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

10. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING






(a) Remove the brake pedal return spring.
12. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS






(a) Remove the clip and push rod pin, then separate the push rod clevis.
13. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY






(a) Remove the 4 nuts and brake booster assembly.
NOTICE: Do not damage the brake lines.

14. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET
(a) Remove the brake booster gasket from the brake booster assembly.
15. REMOVE BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the brake vacuum check valve assembly from the brake booster assembly.
16. REMOVE CHECK VALVE GROMMET
(a) Remove the check valve grommet from the brake booster assembly.
17. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
(a) Remove the lock nut and brake master cylinder push rod clevis.
