Climate Control Seat System does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The air conditioning amplifier assembly receives seat heater switch position signals when the engine switch is on (IG), and then transmits airflow amount signals to each seat climate blower.

1. SYSTEM CHECK
(a) Check the climate control seat operation Operation Check.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CUSHION BLOWER LH - BATTERY, BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the U12 connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEATBACK BLOWER LH - BATTERY, BODY GROUND)
(a) Reconnect the U12 connector.

(b) Disconnect the U13 connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH)
(a) Disconnect the J59, U12 and U13 connectors.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT HEATER SWITCH - BATTERY, BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the J45 connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. INSPECT SEAT HEATER SWITCH
(a) Remove the seat heater switch Removal.

(b) Disconnect the J45 switch.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE SEAT HEATER SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT HEATER SWITCH - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the J45 and J59 connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
8. INSPECT SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH
(a) Remove the seat climate control blower LH Removal.

(b) Check the input signal waveform.
(1) Connect the oscilloscope to terminal 3 and body ground with the climate control blower connector still connected.
(2) Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.

OK:
The waveform is displayed as shown in the illustration.
Result:

B -- REPLACE SEAT CUSHION CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH

9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CUSHION BLOWER RH - BATTERY, BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the T12 connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEATBACK BLOWER RH - BATTERY, BODY GROUND)
(a) Reconnect the T12 connector.

(b) Disconnect the T13 connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT HEATER SWITCH - BATTERY, BODY GROUND)

14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT HEATER SWITCH - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the J45 and J59 connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

15. INSPECT SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER RH

(a) Remove the seat climate control blower RH Removal.
(b) Check the input signal waveform.
(1) Connect the oscilloscope to terminal 3 and body ground with the climate control blower connector still connected.
(2) Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.

The waveform is displayed as shown in the illustration.
